Petit Cup was super fun! I got to see a lot of new and familiar faces. That didn't stop me from pairing up with my friend Greg, AKA Meta Potion's Warrior of Light. We always somehow end up facing each other in tournaments. Forgot to take pics of the Final Rankings for everyone. If someone has them, please post a picture of it. I did 4-3 and ranked 28/89, which is much better than I thought I would do. And I'm really happy with what I pulled from my booster packs. I'll post pics up in the booster pulls thread. Top 8 Congrats to Azul and Brian for 1st and 2nd place! I'm super proud of Brian for going undefeated in Swiss Rounds with his Fire/Ice VI build. That didn't stop Azul's Mono Lightning deck though. Mono Lightning is still going strong even with the new Opus IV. Of course, time will tell if it'll stay top tier. We did just get Opus IV and this was our first big Opus IV tournament event. The Meta will ever be changing as we deckbuild and playtest more. To see some of the games in action, you can watch them on The Break Zone's YouTube VODs Livestream Coverage: Wolves' Den More photos at the Meta Potion Facebook Page. Prizes Signed Playmats Congrats to everyone that got the achievements. I remember helping Larry get 14 forwards on the field for a party attack. I found it interesting that he broke his record yet again and made it to 17 party attacking Forwards. I was definitely not prepared at all for the Wolves' Den achievements, so I just played to playtest my decks for the Meta Potion Circuit Championship. I've mentioned before for Nats that they should have prizes for those that lose a lot. Like, here's a free booster pack for being so be bad. Go practice. 😛. I'm glad that they started doing this. The most losses prize was the best Imo. It included a third of an Opus IV booster box. There was supposedly a Gunslinger event that I didn't know about and was kept under wraps. After three consecutive wins in the Wolves' Den event, you can opt to play against Meta Potion organizers Kyle McGinty or Matthew Okimoto. Successfully beating them wins you a foil Cecil promo card. Those seated at the end of the Wolves' Den event received a foil Cecil promo card, so I'm glad that I was able to get that. The merch store was a bit lackluster. Nothing really new if you buy online a lot. The only "new" products at the store was the Black Deck Box, which isn't in stores here locally yet in SoCal, at the least to the ones I've been to, and the Vincent sleeves that were never released here in the NA. They've been released in other countries a while ago and I've had them imported. But to those that only buy locally, that was new. I really wanted the FF30th Anniversary merch before they stop selling them, but I can't afford it right now. 😕 I'm happy for the turnout for this event. Thank you to Square Enix and Meta Potion for hosting the Los Angeles Petit Cup 2017.
