Opus I Wave 1 had a unique print run of its cards with a few errors. Many were fixed and adjusted for the later waves and later Opus sets, so these errors and different markings can only be found in the first print of Opus I.
There are no official special marks on the cards that indicate whether a card is a first print or not. However, there are other ways to tell the difference. Keep in mind that these differences do not affect gameplay. This information is mostly for collectors that would like to collect the first print cards.
Color Shade Changes

The best view to see the differences are usually the cards with a background image. Many of the Wave 1 background images are transparent and show the background textures on the images. These are fixed in Wave 2 where it's not transparent, more color filled in, and the background textures aren't visible on the background images anymore. The cause for the varying shades, whether lighter or darker, from each wave for each card is different because of its transparency and image and background color. It's not going to be a consistent Wave 1 is lighter/darker than Wave 2. Look for the transparency in the background​ images. If you see the background texture showing through to the background image, it's a Wave 1 card.
Cards that have only one image layer are much harder to spot the Wave 1 difference. These cards would need a side by side Wave 1 vs Wave 2 comparison to tell the color shade difference, as opposed to the background image cards where you can spot the difference without a side by side comparison.
Cards marked with * mean that the color shade difference is very slight and hard to tell. Card fading such as from the sun could affect this tell.
Cards marked with ** mean that there seems to be no color difference.
Any cards marked with a * or ** shouldn't use this method to tell if it's a Wave 1 card. The difference is too minimal to confirm. Only use this method to backup up other reliable methods.

Template Placement Change
While this is a consistent difference among the waves, this isn't exactly the best distinguishing feature. Cards from the same wave have slight varying levels of placement among each other and aren't exactly aligned the same. I suggest to use this info only to back up other reliable methods.
Wave 1 - Card template is placed higher on the card. Best view: the CP Crystal is close to the top edge.
Wave 2 - Card template is more centrally placed on the card. Best view: the CP Crystal is lower from the top edge.

Booster Pack Differences
There is a way to tell the difference between sealed Wave 1 and 2 booster packs.
Wave 1 - Pack is sealed with lines. Easier to open from top. Back flap has a dash line seal. Slightly lighter in color shade.
Wave 2 - Pack is sealed with square dots. Easier to open from bottom. Back flap has a solid line seal. Slightly darker in color shade.

Wave 1 - Speckles are much more prominent. At an angle with light on the card, the speckles can still be seen lightly.

Wave 1 - Background image shows on Job template near the Card Type.
Wave 2 - Fixed, background image doesn't show on the Job template anymore.

Template Placement Change
While this is a consistent difference among the waves, this isn't exactly the best distinguishing feature. Cards from the same wave have slight varying levels of placement among each other and aren't exactly aligned the same. I suggest to use this info only to back up other reliable methods.
Wave 1 - Card template is placed higher on the card. Best view: the CP Crystal is close to the top edge.
Wave 2 - Card template is more centrally placed on the card. Best view: the CP Crystal is lower from the top edge.

Booster Pack Differences
There is a way to tell the difference between sealed Wave 1 and 2 booster packs.
Wave 1 - Pack is sealed with lines. Easier to open from top. Back flap has a dash line seal. Slightly lighter in color shade.
Wave 2 - Pack is sealed with square dots. Easier to open from bottom. Back flap has a solid line seal. Slightly darker in color shade.

The outer box packaging seem to not have any noticeable consistent difference. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to tell if sealed boxes are Wave 1 or not.
