Meetup
I'm planning a FFTCG gathering at Anime Expo in the Tabletop Gaming area for some talk and casual games. We could have it as a tournament if enough people show up and want to do that, but it's just me and another person that's confirmed going, so it's just a gathering with casual games for now.
It's tricky to find a good time to meet though. AX is July 1-4. Saturday is usually the busiest days, so I'm not sure if that's a good time so as to not conflict with events and people's schedules. On the other hand, many local people prefer Saturdays. Also, it is the most crowded day, so that's a good plus for game exposure.
There's always Sunday too. Again, events and schedule conflicts, but it's still a good day to meet with it being the weekend. It's hard to gauge what Monday and Tuesday will turn out to be. There's a lot of factors to consider whether a day will be busy or not. They're weekdays, but Tuesday is a holiday. Usually Day 2 and 3 are the busy days, but Day 1 is Saturday this year, so I'm not so sure now.
The other person going said Day 4 is a good day for him which is July 4. Would that be a good time or not with the holiday? I'm honestly open to any time, I just need people that are attending to let me know what's a good time.
Info: Anime Expo is held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. 1-Day badges are $55, 4-day badges are $90. Tickets through Eventbrite, so expect some fees.

Giveaway
I have a ton of extra cards in my collection that I don't need and are kinda hard to trade/sell. Yeah, I'm talking about Commons. I thought these would be best utilized by giving them away at AX to help promote the game as well as the forum. I think I have 2000 cards to give out, maybe 3000. I haven't really counted my Opus II cards yet. With AX having 100,000 unique attendees last year, I was hoping to have quite a bit more to give out, so I'm asking if anyone wants to donate their cards that they don't want to be given away at AX.
I also need some helpers to distribute them. I'm going to be busy at my Artist Alley table this year so I won't be able to distribute much during the day, and that's the best time to give out items. I might leave some at the Tabletop Gaming area for people to pick up, but I don't want to do that for all the cards. Some people can be greedy and grab stacks of the cards. I'll also have a stack at my Artist Alley table that people can pick up. The rest would need to be distributed by hand from others. Looking for at least two people for each day, but the more, the better so we can cover more grounds.
And if you're already thinking it, I'll stop you now. No, this is not a scam for me to steal your cards. I have a trading reputation that I plan to keep clean for years to come. I'm easy to find online. I have numerous feedback from many different places, eBay, Amazon, CheapAssGamer, GameTZ, Listia, Etsy, FFTCG Forum, FFTCG Marketplace, and a few other smaller forums. Risking my online rep isn't worth doing a scam like this, let alone for Commons too, which are the most probable cards that will be donated. If you're still worried, document the amount of cards you'll send and post it here. I'll be posting the final total number of cards before AX starts and eventually do a report on the gathering and giveaway, if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
